Hola, Padres,
Today was an interesting day because we combined El Cinco de Mayo, Mexican "Independence Day" with El Dia de las Madres, Mother's Day. We cut out sombreros and colored them and made cards for our mamas.
It was a very busy day and we hardly spent any time outside because of the extreme heat and sun. It was touching to see how the children expressed their love for their madres. The fun songs on the CD about different themes in Spanish set to different familiar songs in English were a big hit! We continue to learn theme-appropriate phrases and words. We hope you check your students' cuadernos to see what they have been learning. But, remember, practice makes all the difference in learning. Repetition is key, and children like it!
